Intercellar

2016
Münchner Science & Fiction Festival / Einstein Kultur / Munich

THE INTERVENTION

InterCellar explores the transformation of underground architecture. By layering a historic Munich beer cellar with digital structures, we shifted the perception of depth—replacing physical isolation with virtual boundlessness.

THE METHOD

Due to a ten-day production window, we utilized a hybrid workflow: creating a digital twin for pre-baked mapping, combined with a 10,000-lumen wide-angle projection. The humid environment led us to a specialized 360° audio system using slate speakers by Schieferton.com, ensuring sonic precision where traditional systems fail.

THE OBSERVATION

The installation proved the power of collective ad-hoc structures. The synergy between light, sound, and the cellar’s natural reflections created a sensory loop so captivating that visitors remained within the three-minute cycle for up to 90 minutes.
